It’s not even too late to sign up (summer reading page (http://tadl.org/summerreading) ). Annual Survey Remember way back in February when we asked your opinion in our annual survey? Your input is important to us and I am so thankful to everyone who filled out the survey. We always keep the survey anonymous to get more responses but that does make it challenging to respond to comments - so here are a few! 1. Book Club bags should be able to be checked out for more than 4 weeks so that we have time to read and THEN return after the Book Club discussion. a. Believe it or not, but our Book Club bags check out for 6 weeks. And you can put a hold on them! 2. “Need to be able to download books to my kindle but I think kindle is to old. “ a. Did you know TADL Main Library has Digital Drop-ins every Wednesday? You can bring your device (old and new) to the library and we’ll help get you hook up with our digital services. 3. Literature into Film series? a. We have it! The first Sunday of the month at 1pm. To find out more, search our calendar of events for Books to Movies (https://www.tadl.org/events/month?keywords=books%20to%20movies) . 4. A lot of new books that come out you don't have and when I check Mel there is sometimes only 1 library who has it but you aren't allowed to check it out. Why?! It's frustrating!! a. There are so many books published every year, there is no way to keep up! We do our best but we always appreciate suggestions for purchases. Leave a note in our suggestion box or online (https://www.tadl.org/suggestion) . Pro tip: If you include your name we'll even let you know when the book is ready to check out! Regardless of what or how you use the library, we have a new way for you to see how much you save with your TADL card! This new value calculator (https://www.tadl.org/new-library-value-calculator) is based on updated data from Syracuse University. A few fun summer facts: * Over 3,400 people will participate in our summer reading club. * All library departments participate in the annual summer reading program. o Thank you to all the partners, supporters, and volunteers who help us produce the six-week program every year! * Our Ultimate Read-a-Thoners have now logged over 8,600 days of reading since March. Many of them are already halfway to their goal of reading 15.5 minutes for 155 days. Congratulations Read-a-Thoners, you're still welcome to stop in and pick up a Read-a-Thon yard sign! Today is a good day for a great story. Keep reading and logging those minutes!
