The Authors in the Gardens program is back this summer at The Botanic Gardens at Historic Barns Park! Pack a picnic lunch and join us for a fun-filled morning as we welcome celebrated local children’s authors to The Botanic Garden to read their books to you and your family. Co-hosted by our friends at The Botanic Garden, this event is part of TADL's Summer Library Challenge.
Running from 10:00-11:30 am, local guest authors will be stationed at various garden spaces throughout the Garden’s grounds and will read their children’s books over the course of the morning. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids and parents or caregivers of all ages to enjoy storytime in the Garden!
Local authors include: Brianne Farley reading Dozens of Doughnuts; JeffrAy Kessler reading Colantha: a beloved world champion cow; and, Bill O. Smith reading from the Chickadees series.
After the stories, head over to the Pavilion to enjoy family-friendly music from the Cherry Blossom Ramblers. This family folk band can’t wait to play some fun tunes, geared to preschool and early elementary audiences.
This event is FREE for all to attend and will happen rain or shine. So pack those umbrellas and dress for the weather!
