Event Details

The Rock of Kingsley, in partnership with A. Papano's Pizza of Kingsley and the Kingsley Branch Library, presents this free community screening of "Do It For Daniel," a documentary about Daniel Olson's life. Daniel was an All-State quarterback for the Ishpeming football team, who also had great family & friends, but few people knew the battles of depression & anxiety he was fighting on the inside, and he completed suicide at 19 years old.

Kingsley Football Coach Tim Wooer will introduce Coach Jeff Olson, Daniel’s father, who will present the documentary. Following the showing, a panel of local health professionals will engage in a conversation on local youth mental health issues.

This event is intended to help erase the stigma of mental illness and seeking professional help. Seeking treatment for depression and anxiety should be seen as no different than being treated for a physical ailment. Opening up this discussion in our communities is crucial to see this dream to fruition and save the lives of countless individuals.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones; we understand that this issue can be very triggering for many.

For more information, contact the Kingsley Library at 231-263-5484. THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD AT THE ROCK YOUTH CENTER IN KINGSLEY, in the same parking lot as the Library.
