Ever wonder how astronauts and space explorers might survive on something other than freeze dried food in space? TADL joins Magnitude.io again to ask this question in the ExoLab 11 experiement. Compare how our ExoLab grows here on planet Earth versus the effects of microgravity on plant grwoth on the International Space Station. Our ISS plant is scheduled to launch no earlier than November 11th and will be in place for comparison +4 days from launch. View our display to learn more about the experiment, as well as find books and other library items on space to check out.

You'll be able to view the library's ExoLab unit in the Youth Services department nearby our fish tank. Please don't jostle or move the unit, though, as our plants will need the stable environment to grow.

There are self-paced learning modules (create an account using Class Code: 04Etyto) to keep the interest sky high along the 6 week experiment (you'll be able to compare plant growths from our region and around the world, as well as on the ISS), and also find learning events for kids aged 6-12. Check tadl.org/events for more information.
