Event Details
The Traverse Area District Library, in partnership with Cherryland Amateur Radio Club, will offer a free introduction to shortwave and amateur radio presentation & demonstration.
Come to the Library at 610 Woodmere Avenue to spend an hour in the world of short-wave radio. Learn how radio works to communicate and what people do with shortwave radio.
The purpose is to explore the sights and sounds of international radio signals, understand how they are created and what people are doing with them. You will hear local communications, international broadcasts and two-way communications as well as satellite and international space station communications.
This is an introduction to give you a broad overview of the world of shortwave and amateur radio. The program is free, but we request that you register your intention to be there by email to: Scott Pyles, wx1j@arrl.net.
