Josh Denby, TADL’s Head of Sight & Sound, is steering the TADL Waves project. “I was really excited to send invitations to these musicians,” he said. “We have a great, well-rounded selection of music. Our jurors did a great job and I’m so grateful that they took time out of their busy schedules to review this music for us.” TADL’s first jury panel included The Accidentals, Karine Pierson of MI Music Education, and TADL employees Keith Schwartz and Chad Farrell.
Over the next few weeks the musicians will be sending additional songs in to populate the streaming service. Once the music is all uploaded the service will be available to TADL patrons in late August.
“We’re excited to hear what everyone thinks about the new service,” Denby said. “We hope it will be a fun and easy way for the community to learn more about local music, help the artists gain a following, and maybe even inspire more people to think about music. We have an amazing selection of instruments and equipment library users can check out with their TADL card.”
TADL is planning an outdoor listening party once the service is ready to launch. Check the library’s website (tadl.org) in late August!
