(TRAVERSE CITY) - We’re looking forward to a banner year at the library, starting with a new district circulation record set in 2023 of 1,346,082 items! Additional celebrations and events include:

Happy 25th birthday Woodmere - Jan. 10

Believe it or not it’s the 25th anniversary of the “new” library on Woodmere Avenue! Join us in the McGuire Community Room to celebrate. We’ll kick things off at noon with a bagpiper and recognition ceremony with special guests, immediately followed by an open house until 6 pm. We look forward to hearing all your favorite library memories! Special request - if anyone out there has photos of the library’s 1980s bus-style bookmobile we would love to see it.

“This is a day worth celebrating! Libraries, especially our library, continue to be a community hub. We’ve seen a record number of items being checked out, and give out an average of seven new library cards every day, “ said Michele P. Howard, TADL’s 4th library director in the “new building”. “If you haven’t been to the library in a while, come check it out. We have all the books and newspapers as you would find in a traditional library, and amazing new things like 3D printers, wifi hotspots, and more.”
