Assistive Devices
Visit The Larry Gorton Talking Book Library area for our larger assistive devices. It is located just inside the second set of entry doors, directly to the right. Assistive devices include:
- Wheelchair (1) - If available our wheelchair is located just outside the doors of the Talking Book Library.
- Walkers (2) - if available our walkers are located just outside the doors of the Talking Book Library.
- Reading assistance - For items related to reading assistance please inquire inside The Talking Book Library. We have braille tools, magnifying glasses, and other assistive tools, as well as additional support for those with hearing and visual impairments.
- Hearing assistance - If you would like to use this technology, click here.
- Sensory Support - Some of our programs may include lights, sounds, or crowded spaces. These will be identified on the event listing in our calendar. Please bring any aids (sunglasses, headphones, etc.) that would make you more comfortable. We do have some sensory support items available, please inquire at the front desk for a sensory comfort kit to use during your visit.
Sensory Comfort Kits
Sensory Comfort Kits are available to use inside the library. We also have a few available to check out (children, teen/adult). They contain sunglasses, headphones, ice packs, and a variety of other small sensory support items. We have two versions, for children and teens/adults.
Sunflower Icons
If you would like to make staff aware of an invisible disability you are welcome to take a sunflower sticker to wear from our 1st floor assistance display (just to the right of the main staircase).
Health & Wellness Programs
Join us for a chair based yoga class with Certified Yoga Therapist and instructor, Janet Weaver, in the North Conference Room of the East Bay Township building, across the parking lot from the library.
Join us for an introduction to Tai Chi. During the winter months, we'll meet in the McGuire Community Room and when the weather gets nicer, we'll move out to the Library's Front Lawn.

Curbside Pickup
Anyone may request curbside pickup for their library items. Please contact individual libraries for curbside pickup times and to confirm arrangements.
Totes
We have canvas totes and hanging totes (for walkers and wheelchairs) available to check out as well, to help you carry your library items home.
Restrooms
Woodmere 2024 Restroom Upgrade
All Woodmere restrooms were renovated in 2024. Enhancements include new push-button door mechanisms and stall reconfiguration in addition to upgraded lighting and hands-free use. The Youth Services department has a single/family restroom.
Quiet Spaces
Quiet Area
We have a quiet area on the far south side of the 2nd floor. Turn right off the stairs or left off the elevator, and follow the wall all the way to the end of the floor.
Study Rooms
Rooms may be available on the 2nd floor for any visitors who would benefit from an enclosed space. Ask at the 2nd floor Reference Desk (near the main staircase) if any study rooms are available for your use. You can also reserve a space ahead of time.
