Program Description

Event Details

Join the Smokey Bear Challenge today and help celebrate Smokey's 80th birthday by becoming more environmentally aware and helping to preserve our precious forests. The challenge is simple: read 3 books about wildfire prevention or the environment; and, complete at least 1 activity in four categories (we have 7 categories for you to choose from). We have paper copies of the challenge in our Youth Services department and you can also accept the challenge in Beanstack and enter all of your books and activities there (just look for the Smokey Bear Challenge icon after you sign in and click on it to begin).

When you finish, stop by the Youth Services desk to pick up your Smokey Bear completion certificate as well as your Smokey Bear button. You are automatically entered into the Finishers Drawing to be held in early September. Check out our display case for prizes which range from silver camping mugs to plushy Smokey Bears.

If you have any questions, be sure to stop by the Youth Services desk, call us at 231-932-8503 or email kids@tadl.org .
