Program Description
Event Details
The goal of the Traverse Area Historical Society is to share local history of Traverse City and the Grand Traverse region.
This month's topic is: Rutted Dirt to Interstates; Tents to Motels
How Roads and Lodging Changed between 1910 and 1970
Through the magic of vintage Traverse-area photos, the audience will be treated to three tourist excursions “Up North.” The first in 1913, the next in the 1940s, and the last in the 1960s. And my, how things changed over those years!
Presenter Peg Siciliano was the TAHS Archivist for eight years and is a TAHS Board member. She has a Master’s Degree in American History, and occasionally publishes local history articles in the Record Eagle.
